Restoring a two-hundred-year-old building to be at the cutting edge of sustainability isn’t easy. We partnered with Historic England to retain all of Eagle Works’ amazing heritage features, like original timber beams, wrought iron columns and vaulted ceilings. But the tricky part was bringing it back in a way that will be sustainable in the long term. To do this we’ve installed biomass heating systems so it can be heated in a way that’s carbon neutral and not reliant on fossil fuels.
It’s been a journey, and it’s taken time to get it right. But now it’s finished we’re going to celebrate this amazing building and the fantastic place that surrounds it.
Kelham is bursting with creative talent – from artisan food makers, to designers, artists, chefs and breweries – they all play a part in making Kelham one of the top 10 best places to live in UK.
So to celebrate the area and the completion of Eagle Works, we’re inviting everyone into the building’s unique spaces for a two-day celebration.
On Friday the 26th and Saturday the 27th of October, there’ll be craft pop-ups, art exhibitions, food stalls and so much more. Think Peddlers market meets the Gage Gallery meets Church: Temple of Fun, for two days only.
