Greenhouse has been awarded a CEDIA award for “Best Multi-Dwelling Installation.”
CEDIA, the Customer Electronic Design and Installation Association awarded Greenhouse technical partner, Finite Solutions, the prestigious award for the cutting edge technical solutions that are employed throughout the development.
The CEDIA Awards are pan European and Asian wide awards that celebrate the very best in the home technology industry. Managing Director of Citu, Chris Thompson said; “We are really pleased that the technical elements of the development have been highlighted and awarded by the CEDIA. Greenhouse was shortlisted against stiff competition including high end developments in London so it was great to see that the judges chose a development that has sustainability at its core.”
Commended by the judges for being “a unique installation that brings social and environmental responsibility to the fore” each apartment has its own integrated energy monitoring system which, using the TV as an interface, allows the owner to not only monitor their own energy usage, but also the amount of energy the building is generating and using as a whole. The system also allows occupants to form an ‘energy cooperative’, with Greenhouse acting as energy supplier and invoicing homeowners by net usage, taking into account energy produced on site and energy ‘exchanged’ between apartments. In addition, homeowners can book an electric pool car from the on-site car club, get real-time information on the next buses and trains departing from local stations and access an integrated community notice board to keep in touch with the wider community.
