Working in conjunction with Architect’s Journal, Citu has launched a design competition inviting architects to submit design proposals to create a sustainable landmark building at 36 The Calls.
As one of the last remaining waterfront sites in the heart of Leeds, it is vital that the successful proposal ticks all the boxes. Citu want to create an iconic building, with distinctive internal and external architecture that complements the existing urban environment and the history of the site; all whilst achieving true sustainability.
The competition is now at shortlist stage and the six finalists have now been invited to present their ideas to the judging panel. They include:
Cartwright Pickard Architects
Letts Wheeler
Project O
Fletcher Crane
Aedas
P+HS.
The competition winner, to be announced in early 2010, will work closely with Citu to submit a planning application for the development of this landmark site.
